zach's storyThis video follows the story of a 22 year old college student, who was a star athlete in high school, had stellar grades, great SAT scores and a loving family. When Zack was rejected by the colleges he wanted to get into, he started on a downward spiral and went into a deep depression. As his depression got worse and worse he started contemplating suicide and one night he found himself at the top of a high cliff on the verge of killing himself. At the last minute he called a friend and the friend called his parents and Zach was saved. At the end of the video Zach visits the cliff where he almost took his life. The video also features Dr Sonia Luckey, who explains how Zach turned things around and how is doing today.

This video IS adapted from a classroom workshop led by Dr. Sonia Luckey, DNP. who teaches vital mental health skills to teens. Viewers will learn the warning signs of suicide and what steps they should take if they are worried about a friend. They will learn how to approach and interact with someone who may be on the verge of self harm. The program models how to intervene safely, get appropriate help, and support a friend facing a difficult challenge.
